Damar Batu
Damar Batu is a yellowish-brown colored, stoned-shaped hard resin obtained from a specific dipterocarp variety. It emits a sweet odor when heated, so it can be used as incense. The petrified natural resin of ancient shore trees is known as Damar Batu. It is much more difficult to work with than most resins.
Features
It has been protected and can be found in the Indonesian jungles on the ground/surface. Fishermen used Damar Batu mixed with kerosene as a wood boat putty. It is now also used in the production of paints, putty, and varnish/shellac.
